Final Fantasy 8 Magazines
|
A new innovation for Final Fantasy is the idea of reading magazines. There are
various types; there's the monthly weapon magazine which shows you what you need
for each weapon upgrade, the Timber magazines give you more of an insight into the
history of the struggle with Galbadia, while Pet magazines and comics provide information on
special moves.
You need to read them by accessing the Item menu and selecting the magazine. You will
be shown each page, and you can use left and right buttons to turn the page. Once you have read it,
you will have various things 'learnt' depending on the nature of the magazine.
You can buy all of the magazines from Esthar, but obviously this is far on in the game. It's best
to dig out the magazines in the world as you progress so that your character's are equipped as good as
possible. Here's a few tables on where to find them:
Weapon Magazines
You'll find these lying around providing monthly information on a new weapon upgrade for
each character. There's a picture of the weapon, and information about its strengths and weaknesses.

100 gil. Afterwards, Zell will meet up with the
girl and you will get the magazine!
