NOTE: Galbadia Garden is also known as the 'Far East Garden'.
Squall and the other two characters will rise from their sleep, but if you check their status',
you will notice that their HP has been reduced to 1! Equip G.F.'s and head up the path
Now you will back at the World Map through a new area. Save your game!
Well let's get back into action, head towards the left of the area and you
will find a building that's looks a bit similar to Balamb Garden, so head
towards that. As you enter, you have another FMV sequence of cadets flying around in nifty
devices.
As you enter the building, there are a couple of players. One of them
is a girl walking towards you and the other is a guy resting on his
robot-walkers. At the right side of the atrium, you will find another
player. Keep on heading up and you will reach the central gate of the academy.
Your will enter the garden along with the other two that are not in
your party. Enter through the blue door (it says
'IN'). You will find a lobby that's
splits into 4 different paths (Notice this Garden seems much smaller than Balamb Garden).
There is a Save Point found here along with a hidden Magic Stone found under
the yellow light.
1st Floor
|
The LEFT path:
|
Leads to the authorium and there is guard on the left.
|
The RIGHT path:
|
There are total of 2 doors here. The room on the right
has three players, while the room on the left is the
hockey field / skating compound. At present, you can't
get to the Magic Stone that's within the ice-ring.
Head up the left door at the north, you'll find a player
plus a Magic Stone.
|
The NORTH path:
|
There is a guard guarding the door. Head up and you
will find an instructor looking over some cadets doing
press-ups. Head up the stairs located to the right.
|
2nd Floor
|
The LEFT path:
|
Leads to the elevator, nothing else is found here.
|
The RIGHT path:
|
Leads to the circular balcony that's located directly
above the main hall. There is a hall within this
area.
|
The ROOM:
|
There is a guard guarding the room. ENTER this room!
|
You will find yourself in the reception room on the second floor.
You will have a sequence between your party talking about Seifer.
Talk to Zell and Quistis will enter. Talk to Rinoa and she will talk about
her past relations with Seifer. Finally, talk to Selphie and Squall will leave abruptly to cool off
(he actually doesn't mind Seifer; in fact he liked him, he 'wasn't a bad person'...).
Head down the stairs and you will see Zell training along
with the cadets letting some of his plentiful energy off.
Exit from the room and you will meet Seifer's two
pals, Fuujin and Raijin. They bring new orders from Cid and you tell them
that you think Seifer's dead. They don't believe you and head off in search of him.
After the chat head for the central gate. At the gate, you will meet Quistis and exit from the
area. You will find that everyone is at the compound infront of the academy.
Talk to Rinoa and shortly you will see a car
approaching you. Dodonna (Principal of Galbadia Garden) will introduce you to Irvine as he is
aware you need a sniper for the mission that lies ahead:
** FMV **
As Irvine lies on the green grass, a butterfly lands on his finger.
He will look at Squall and company, and begins to approach.....
Now talk to Selphie. Together with Rinoa, they will grab onto Irvine's arms
and they will leave. Squall looks pretty unhappy about this (arrr). Now
you will be at the world map and have Zell and Quistis in your
present party. Head for the station which is located to the north-
west of the school. The train station has a couple of players so
lookout for them. You will have to pay 3,000 gil to the train attendant.
Next Rinoa and Selphie will enter together with Irvine. As usual,
Selphie will enter the door located at the north (she likes trains, remember?).
Irvine follows her. Go there and talk to Selphie and exit. Now you have another short talk
and the screen will switch to the world map showing the train making its
way to Derring City where Laguna's first scenario took place.
NOTE: I have found the trick to prevent the girls from hugging Irvine.
Just talk to Zell and choose the second option and you have
to re-organise your party!
Here is some miscellaneous information about Derring City:
1. Derring Fountain
|
The first area where Laguna and his party park their vehicles. There
are two bus attendents around this area.
|
2. Park Lane
|
The area where you will find the attendent in front of the
Colonel's Mansion. The Left path leads to the clock tower of
Galbadia. There you will find another Magic Stone.
|
3. Parade Area
|
Basically a busy street. This road is infested with vehicles and
there are a huge groups of people. On the right, you will find the
weapon shop (yellow signboard) and the item shop (orange signboard).
|
4. Arch of Triumph
|
The most dominant figure is that of the huge brown tower (like the
Arc de Triumph in Paris). There is a
4-way junction which leads to other parts of the town.
|
5. In front of the President's Mansion
|
You will find 2 bus attendants here and south is the President's
mansion. There is a huge compound area, where the Colonel will
brief you about your mansion.
|
6. Galbadia Hotel Street
|
Head northeast and cross the flags and you will end up at this
street. Inside the Hotel, there is a Save Point. Hotel fee: 100
gil a night.
|
7. Colonel Karway's Mansion
|
On the mansion's porch there is a Save Point. To get there, just
head east of the Park Lane. You must get the three digit password ,found on the Gunblade in the Tomb
of the Unknown King, and he will lead you into the mansion grounds.
|
You will now have reached the major city of Galbadia, Derring City, obviously
named after the dictator President Derring. You're searching for Colonel Karway's mansion.
There is a card player in the middle of the platform. Head down the esculator
and you will see the square where Laguna previously parked his car in the flashback.
The city has a well organised transport system, comprimising of busses.
Head towards the bus attendant who will tell you to wait for the Bus to the Colonel's mansion.
Now talk and pick the first option ('yes') to board the bus.
In the next screen, press X to get off of the bus.
Talk to the guard who is on the path to the mansion (on the far right) and
he will ask for a three digit number, which
can only be found at the 'Tomb of the Unknown King' located
north-east from here. Only then you will be able to access the Colonel's mansion.
Talk to the guard again and pick the fourth option ('Be lead to the city limits').
You will find yourself at the edge of Derring City, next to a Rent-A-Car station.
I suggest that you rent a car if you have sufficient gil, otherwise you may as well
build up your levels, as the Tomb is quite long way from the town.
Exit the town to the left, either by foot or in a rented car, and you will be back
at the World Map. Head northeast along a stretch of land and
you find the Tomb which the guard has told you to go to.
