Liberi Fatali: (Click here for the lyrics) - The incredible intro music that has completely stunned everyone. Starts off fairly subtle (Though you can tell somehow this is going to be amazing) and the gradual build up forms perhaps the most dramatic and heart-racing piece of music I have ever heard. What makes Liberi Fatali such an undeniable classic is how melody rich it is (In fact I was surprised Uematsu didn't do different variations). The range of instruments, the Latin lyrics (If you read the translations you'd see that they're pure genius)... everything about this is just awesome, and it made that incredible intro into one of the most dramatic pieces of cinematography Square have ever, and are likely to produce. Nobuo Uematsu at his absolute best.

Balamb Garden:At first sounds excellent, can get annoying but overall a great composition with an interesting choice of 'instruments'.

Blue Fields: An absorbing, original, and incredible overworld theme. Listen to it a few times to discover its true beauty.

Dont Be Afraid: The excellent battle music. Not exactly excellent if you're not playing the game while listening to it but a great track nevertheless.

The Winner:Great victory fanfare, in with the FF tradition.

Find Your Way:One of my particular favourites. An incredible melody with an excellent choice of instruments - superbly fitting as the FFVIII dungeon theme.

SeeD:A great 'war preparation' theme-tune. Appears to be Cid's theme.

The Landing:Really awesome action music. One of those tracks that enhances action FMV sequences to great effect. Played at the start of the mission to Dollet and also in a stunningly dramatic FMV sequence on Disc 2 involving Seifer.

Starting Up:The excellent and infamous 'Tower Transformation' music. A great piece that fits the FMV perfectly. Not the type of track you would listen to on it's own though...

Force Your Way:This is actually very popular amongst most people I spoke to about the FFVIII OST but I wasn't too fond of it. Remeniscent of the FFIV boss theme... A so-so boss theme for FFVIII (IMO).

Breezy:A nice piece of accoustic guitar that has a great melody. Played in numerous sections but most people will recognise it from Balamb City (Where Zell lives).

Shuffle Or Boogie:AAHHHH!!! I hate this music!! It's the card game music and perhaps that's why I don't like it. I mean, I love the card game but there were so many times when I lost rare cards and it pissed me off when I had to reload a saved game and... oh well, you know. Anyway, bottom line is that this track is annoying.

Waltz For The Moon:The main piece of music to the legendary dance section - delightful during the amazing FMV but doesn't have quite the same effect on its own.

Tell Me:A beautiful and atmospheric piece of music that is played during various plot developments in the game - first heard when Quistis takes Squall to her 'secret place' (*grins*).

The Man With The Machine Gun:Well, Laguna's battle theme is certainly 'different'. Some people I spoke to thought this was awesome, while others thought it was awful (Rob described it as "70's disco music" LOL). I sway more to the 'awful' but I've grown to like it.
