"Another quick note. You guys don't think that a game
is ready for gay characters? Why not? It would certainly make the
character relationships more interesting. The belief that children should
be protected from such concepts is laughable, I would have thought that
anyone willing to play FF8 to any serious extent already knows far more
about the existence of gay people than all you homophobes out there are
willing to consider. Gay people exist and they shouldn't be discriminated
against, even if they're only characters in a game -- They've got just the
same rights as you an me. Live with it.

I have just one great wish for the final fantasy
series. I would like to see the programmers add a different character, a
special character that can learn the special powers of magic on her own
with out any type of special item. Like on final fantasy 2 some of the
characters were born with special powers and learned how to use them as
they grew up on levels. They should'nt take out the magic spells thats
the best part about final fantasy games the spells are what it is about.
And the gaurdian force spells, they need to make the game more
challenging to get a summon spell, again like on final fantsy 2 and 3 in
order to call you have to defeat the master before you can learn to summon
him. Games are just geting to easy these days They should make us earn
the summons by fighting them to prove our worthyness to use them. All I
ask is that they put more difficulty on the final fantasy games these are
the best rpgs and final fantasy was way easier than 1!
and 2 and 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That just 'beeeps me off'.

I want more love and I hate how they make a big deal
out of the main character. Why can't that girl fall for zell instead of
squall, that way since you only feel for the main character you would
actually get geallous. I hated the way Tifa and Iris fell for Cloud.- I
actually got bored of them fighting for them.
Don't reveal the last bad guy so quickly.- I hated the way all throughout
FF7 we were going after Sephi. I want the party to split like in Final
Fantasy III and make them remeet after a while and try to make it two
players.- Can you imagen finishing such an awsome adventure with a friend
and can you imagen you and your friend fighting for the same girl.- And
you could also in the end say I gained much more axpirience than you did
and I can kick your but any time and have them fight just for fun
( practice mode). Thanks
PS.- Even better play it with your girl friend it would be like watching
a movie but you'r actually living it. [if you have enough inmagination.

My wish is quite simple. I would hope that Square
would make the characters look less boxy when you the player are out of a
movie. In ff7 barrets hands looked looked like he was constantly holding
crates (even on his good hand). From what I have seen from the screen
shots the characters look more 'americanish' but i think Square could
still push that a little farther and i like the way the women look in ff8
but they need to make the men look more like men i could not tell if
laguna was a guy or a girl before i read it in the character details below
the pictures these are my wishes i relize that it is far too late for
Square to do anything about it (seen as how the game is already released
in japan)but, i dont think i am asking for a whole lot

First of all, SPEECH!!! I got to the end of FF7 and
all they had to give me was subtitles! I think at least the endings should
have actual talking.
Second, what the hell is with you people and your dislike of gay
characters? I think a fag or two would add a touch more realism to the
games and give gay players someone to look up too. Plus, the big buff hero
lady's man thing has been done to death in my opinion.
Third, FEWER STEREOTYPICAL WOMEN!!! Aeris and Tifa were buff, as are many
other RPG chicks, but they still retain that feminine quality, and after
awhile you know the personality of the female characters without even
having to pay attention to them in the game. Maybe a tomboy or two. FOR
THE LOVE OF GOD, SOME DIFFERENCES PLEASE!!!
Fourth, I'd like to see a game that is literally MASSIVE. One that spans
several generations. Like, you start off with a hero or a set of heroes
and complete their quest, and then you take their children or
grandchildren on a quest of their own.
Fifth, I loved the summons, I thought they were cool, but I think the
summon sequences should be omitted in parts of the game that have time
limits. Getting the huge materia on the train was even more frustrating
with the summons consuming all my time!
Sixth, I love Pokemon. I like there should be creatures you can summon
that you can also talk to and care for, like Chocobos, only many different
types. Like a built-in virtual pet.
Thank ye fer listening.

I wish people would quit bitchin about FF7.....*g*....
Really though I wish they would bring back the "mass character selection"
like in FF6. I enjoyed having a wiiiiide variety of characters to choose
from, and in the second half, find. I had no hardcore problem with FF7's
storyline (though it could have been slightly more contentual). I
personally hope they DO kill people off in FF8, and a lot of them, but the
problem with that is, it sounds too much like Blood. I'm not talking
having 800 playable characters in which 99% get killed off, I'm talking
the world slowly decays itself, and a slight few people are left alive.
Maybe it's just my deadly side coming out again....
I also hope they will be touching slightly harsher ground in terms of
morals....Censoring FF7 wasn't a mistake, though I don't see it very well
required since 9 out of 10 of us know what they said anyway. Also,
religion, as in Xenogears, was quite a lot ignored in FF7, not entirely,
but quite a lot. I have, and still do believe that if FF7 was less
sensitive towards people, the storyline could have developed out properly.
Kinda like FF6, which was lightened heavily for america, but held it's
content enough to bring forth affecting issues.
And to finish, I'd also like to see text boxes RETURN.....I know that
strikes fear and hatred into people, but replacing text with real-speetch,
seems kinda not-Final Fantasy. I am tired of people who were enticed to
the series by FF7's graphics, whining about having to read. Personally, if
thats all FF7 brought to the series, is crying SOB's....I hope FF9 is a 2D
game with a crapload of text. It would ease my mind.....

I am madly in love with the turks, and would like to
see something similar in ff8. For those of you who think that they should
drop dialog boxes and adopt voices, take a look at resedent evil, the shitty
dialog in that game should be enough to change your feeble minds(just
joking, youre not feeble, just misguided).
And, as a final remark on that little gem, I dont want them to make the men
manly, and the woman dainty, cause that would make it less of an
experience, and more of a stereotipical "video game"

One of the biggest disappointments of FF7 (for me, at
least) was that the characters were lacking individuality. If a person
who had never played FF7 before were to continue a saved game at the end,
would this person notice any diference between the characters? Well, the
weapons were different, but when they all do 9999 damage, who cares? Some
characters might be better magic users than others, but with a mastered
Magic Plus materia or two, that won't matter either. FF3/6 had a similar
problem with the espers, but at least each character had abilities to call
their own. I could tell you right now who my favorite FF3/6 characters
are: Edgar, Cyan, Terra, and Celes. In FF7, I've never picked favorite
characters, because there is nothing (in gameplay terms) to distinguish
one from another. Also: moogles, not mogs. New world, not the old one.
New characters, not the old ones. (Aeris's and Cloud's story has been
told. I want a new one.) No major ste!
reotypical characters, especially unrealistic ones. Why does Barret use
Ebonics when no one else in Corel does, or anywhere for that matter? More
political intrigue! Multiple leaders of your party for more of the game.
I think that's enough.

Here are some of my wishes:
What's with the dark, technology look? FF7 had it for a while, and some of
the FF8 pics I see are really dark, with tons of machines. How about some
nature-water, grass, etc. Or a mix. And choices-more dialogue choices,
more often! HAve it effect the rest of the game (not majorly-not just
one). Also, have multiple endings. FF7 was good, but they didn't have
multiple endings. And super-long. Also, I like the multiple planets idea.
Maybe make them 7-9 Cds; a long game is a better one. I would also like to
see some details-details for FMVs, regular playing, etc. Also, have some
extra characters from past games as hidden characters that would actally
have interaction with the rest of the game. MAybe have a choice of who the
main character is. Oh well, as long as there's Cid, there'll be plenty of
interesting things going on :-)

Okay, I've read over all the wish lists, and i can
tell you that the one thing EVERYONE wants (Myself included) is speech.
That's probably not going to happen, however, unless they were to release
it on psx2, and use the higher density discs. One thing about final
fantasy 8 that i really like is the action. They have obviously done some
awesome storyboarding to come up with some of these sequences. Okay, i
know THIS One it not going to happen, but i want more anime looking
charecters! Anime is the base of FF! (Or at least i would like to think
so.) It would definately be cool to have charecters that changed look more
when you changed equipment. I would also like to see some mass battles in
the game, where, say, you control armies (kind of in the same fashion as
the battle at narshe in ff6).
Okay, one thing i have to get off my chest right here is this : I have
seen numerous people whining for charecters from ff7 to be in ff8, or for
ff8 to be a "sequel" to ff7. I have played every final fantasy game in one
fashion or another, and as a true final fantasy fan, i have to say that
this will not and shoudl not happen. I would be offended if it did. Square
has had a long-standing tradition : Every new Final Fantasy game is a new
world, a new adventure. I have noticed that the people who are asking for
this are the "Newbies" to the ff series. They have probably never played
final fantasy 6 or 4 in thier lives. As a result, we are probably going to
see a lot of disillusioned people when ff8 does finally come out. People,
if you are going to get excited about a game, at least find out what it's
REALLY about! Okay, enough of my spiel. Final Fantasy 8 will be awesome,
no matter what they do with it! I look forward to continue playing final
fantasy long into final fantasy XX!
VIII and beyond!

Well, recently I've been playing alot of the old SNES
Final Fantasies, and well, frankly I like the mixture of High Tech and
Midieval. It gives it an even morefantastic feel. If you just have High
Tech, it's Cyberpunk, and if you just have fantasy, it's to D&Dish. I
would love to see a game where at least the main character is completely
made how you want him to be. Like male or female, you pick his class and
maybe, if they can muster the space, his appearence. Also, one thing I
never understood was how Cloud, even though he was a mighty kick ass
fighter, could manage to kick so much ass against a high tech world with
guns, plasma canon, machineguns and mecha armor... Frankly I'd like to see
some one in there who uses a sniper rifle, doesn't even appear on the
fight screen, just sits off in the distance and pops enemies in the skull.
And, to all you people complaining about the Anime look, I love it. Come
on, in a world of dragons and mecha, do we really c!
are about realism? I would also love to see a skill system, like the
character can equip what ever he wants, but his skil determines if he uses
it well. And, My final wish for final fantasy, I want a game that will
last for EONS! I want to have CHILDREN before ican finish this game mwa
hahahahaha MWAHAHAHHAA I'm a little psycho, but comeon, I want a freakin'
CAMPAIGN style game. Okay, I'm done now, time for my medication

There definitely needs to be more character
development. Cait Sith, Yuffie, Vincent were almost tossed aside in
FF7(Okay, so Yuffie fought her father, wow). They are playable
characters...why weren't Yuffie and Vincent in the ending? Oh well, enough
on that.
Music should change a bit. Mister Uematsuo's compositions for all the
games have been superb to say the least. However, for those of us who
have heard the full orhestras of Xenogears...well...((use a real orchestra
instead of computerized sounds, which I think they are doing if the demo
is anything to go by)).
And to all the wishes that the games be made longer...why? Final Fantasy
7 was plenty long enough for me. A game where you spend eight to twelve
hours in the first city...well that's no small accomplishment.
Other than that, more movie sequences of course, some more impressive
regular spells(Fire1, 2, 3 etc.) don't have much to say about the
graphics...they were beyond anything I've seen in FF7.

Another feature idea that was lingering in the back
of my mind for FF8: It would be cool if each battle started in some kind
of sequence of action...let me explain different types of posssible
senerios...the battle begins by(1) the characters running (through a
number of random enviorments) being chased by two enemies, a third pops up
in front of them, and the battle begins. (2) The characters hide behind
an object, while the enemie(s) are casually walking off-guard, then bam-
they pounce in a surprize attack, and the battle begins (3) The battle
begins as both enemies rush each other from afar, dashing at each other
all the way, then a big clash with all characters/enemies attacking at the
same time, and thus the battle begins, (4)all characters jump atop of a
huge beast unexpectingly, as the beast shakes them off(random movements
each time) the battle begins......Obviously i can go on for days with
countless number of senerios, but you get the point a!
lready. Just starting off in a Chess type set up for battles, is kinda
boring. This is sure to add countless hours of excitement to the gameplay.
